whilst this is a diesel corsa, it might have some relevance to your thread: http://www.vauxhallownersnetwork.co.uk/index.php?threads/engine-management-light-illuminated-no-codes-available.294654/

Retrogamer is right, it seems you need a decent code reader. Maybe take it to a dealer for diagnostics :)

Cheaper code readers and the software used on them cannopt detect every code on every vehicle. There maybe manufacturer specific codes that they wont read.

There maybe models that will read every code on your car but it wont be a cheap unit.

With a Corsa throwing a wobbly but no codes, first thing to do is thump the dashboard and see if it changes. Years of misery from bad electrical connections behind the clocks.

Yes the Pedal test has not worked since 1998.
    This is an OBDii interface.

Think you need to find someone who knows what they are doing.

Let's see if there's any more info first.

    1) Does the car struggle to come to life when you turn the key? (I.e does alot of chugging before firing up)

    2) Do you get a lack of power when driving? Do you feel like you're about to stall and do you press the accelerator, and nothing happens?

Has this been happening recently (Over winter)?, but not during the warmer months?

Hi this happens one the engine gets warm, wen I press the accelerator I do get power but it's like a juddering sensation that is pulling me back and then pushing me forward. When the engine is cold I don't have a problem or seem to it has been happening since Sunday but I only has the car last April and it was under manufacture warranty then. It doesn't struggle to come to life I don't feel like I'm going to stall just feel like there isn't as much power
  • The symptoms you describe sounds like a lambda sensor. They arent used until the engine warms up. Whats it like when you floor it? From warm i mean...

Solid light means a fault code will be stored.

Flashing means a misfire has been detected and using the vehicle under this condition can cause expensive to repair damage to to catalytic converter.

You'll find on forums like these that you get lots of suggestions of things it could be. Trouble is, no-one can diagnose it properly.

To my mind, it's got some symptoms of spark plug failure - particularly when you mention this:
wen I press the accelerator I do get power but it's like a juddering sensation that is pulling me back and then pushing me forward.

Spark plugs are fairly quick and easy to change. I'm not familiar with the corsa set up, but could certainly cause the engine management light to flash on and off, as if one of them isn't firing, or firing erratically, it's a misfire.

To try and eliminate the Lamda's, you could try unplugging them, and seeing if you get the same problem. (Making sure to do only a short journey, as it will cause the engine to run rich). Note: Be sure to do this, only if you know what you're doing (I don't want to be responsible for any misfortune!!)

    Hope this helps.
