Renewal of driving licence - potential issues re new blue badge

OH and I have recently had to renew our driving licences. Mine has come back fine, but his has been delayed by some investigations due to him recently being granted a blue badge. At no time has he ever been told not to drive, but could the DVLA over rule this?
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

DVLA are like GOD. They decide what they want to do and nothing will deter them. legal or not.

Their usual response to any issue is withdraw the licence and ask questions later.

Stay on top of it and keep pestering them.

What conditions does he have that have caused him to get a blue badge? If these are listed as conditions you need to inform DVLA of but haven't then there could be a problem, especially if it is a condition that precludes him from driving.

It's muscskeletal pain in his left hip and knee, which us why he drives an automatic...so far he hasn't been given a specific diagnosis
