RAC Renewal
I know it is standard practice that RAC and the like try it on with hiking the renewal and you have to go through the hassle of phoniong up and asking for it to be reduced - but how can they justify a 47% price increase which even after complaining they have only reduced to 22%?

Hi All, I had a car insurance with Churchill. Policy started in Feb 2013. I was paying monthly. Cover for a calendar year. Beginning of July I had to sell my car. I cancelled this policy. I have received a letter from Churchill asking me to pay the outstanding amount for cancellation and remaining period - £284. I made 1…

Been ripped off by a local dealer - where do I stand?
About a month ago I purchased a car for my wife after she passed her test a few months previous, but all the money she spent in lessons and subsequent tests was more or less going to waste because she couldnt afford to get an actual car. So to give her a step onto the ladder I purchased a car for £995. Admittedly it was in…

Focus Power Steering (estate 1.6 Petrol 53 Reg)
Hi, Went to the shop earlier and it appears the power steering is not working on my focus (estate 1.6 Petrol 53 Reg). Looked around online and can see the only known issue is with 2008 models so not mine. Petrol vs Diesel
I am currently looking to get a Nissan Note, probably a 2010 model. My question is should I go for petrol or diesel? Hubby prefers diesel as in his experience they tend to have better acceleration but there are a lot more petrol models around. We probably do less than 10,000 miles per annum so not particularly high…

Inconsiderate lorry drivers
Perhaps this should be in the vent section! Just had a couple of weeks away and still am upset by a lorry driver whilst on the A57 going to Manchester airport. This road has two lanes heading west for well over a mile. At the junction of the A6018 the right lane becomes right turn only, with no warning. So straight on…

Second Hand Car Hell
I bought a used car from a car supermarket almost a year ago and right from the very beginning have been experiencing problems with it. Following advice of the CAB, the car has subsequently been back to the dealer on at least 8 occasions (one too many chances, I know!) is still not repaired and is virtually unroadworthy.…

Car fires
Lots of cases of cars catching fire over the last few days, is this due to the weather or just coincidence? The reason I ask is that I have a London drive tomorrow and it's going to be hot. I will be using M40 and M6 mainly so I guess that's going to mean I get stuck in traffic. what do we know about the cars involved ie…

Possible Red Light Offence - GATSO on other side of road

However, I am concerned about passing a red light yesterday, after which I realized that there was a RED LIGHT GATSO CAMERA on the other side of the road. It could have caught my number plate easily as I was moving towards…
