Day running lights
Has anyone else noticed that some people with day running lights are now driving without lights on in darkness. They seem to think the DRL means they are, in the dark it is very hard to see the rear of the car. If a car had DRL it should also have automatic lights to prevent this.

£100 Ka Bangernomics
I've been offered a 1999 1.3 Ford Ka for £100. it runs and has MOT until July I think and Tax until end of next month. Problems with it is that the heater only works on number 4, passenger door only opens from the inside and it has a slow puncture on one tyre. If it's a cheap fix could make a bit of money back on it.

gps for use as speedometer
Hi I am planning to get a gps device for use as a speedometer. It is basically just to give me a "line of sight" indication of my speed, so I dont have to take my eyes off the road too often. I am aware of the arguments regarding the merits of the gps speedo as opposed to the cars own speedo and I dont want to get in to…

Should I get this car serviced?
Just over a year ago I bought a 55 reg Fiat Stilo from a second-hand car dealer. It had a full service history when I bought it, the last service was just before it was sold to me, and it's still in good condition now (MOT recently passed with no advisories). I've never really owned a car before, do I need to carry on with…

Bought a potential lemon at auction - advice?
Hey folks, I bought a car (52 plate Peugeot 307) at auction a couple of weeks ago for what seemed like the reasonable price of £550 (plus £65 indemnity charge by the auctioneers). The car had 12 months MOT, but no tax, (which I promptly got the next day) and upon limited inspection - such as it is at auctions - everything…

Evans Halshaw - Servicing Scam
I have just had my wifes little Citroen "serviced" by Evans Halshaw, York. They suggested that the brake fluid should be replaced, at about £35. As the car works hard, and its quite important to us that it works well, I agreed. Later on (after paying for this fluid change) I was looking through the Service document, mainly…

V5 returned with incorrent keeper details
I recently moved house so sent my V5c away to get the address changed, when it's come back to me I appear to have been married off without my knowledge. Will the fact the document is in the name of Mrs scubaangel make any difference when I am in fact Miss scubaangel? I can't think of any circumstances when it would matter…
