Golf Headlight

My son's passenger side headlight isn't working on his 1999 Golf, sidelights are fine.
His brother changed the bulb and also tried a couple of spares he had in case the bulb was dud but it still doesnt work.
Does anyone have any idea what to look for?

Check that the rear sidelight the same side as the front one that's duff if it isn't working its the fuse for that side if it is the you want to check you've a live feed on the plug when the sidelights are on if there is its within the headlight if not then you start looking for broke wires etc make sure the main headlight bulb works as it should if its dimmer than the other side you got a earth problem

Thanks, will check those things tomorrow. The rear light on that side has always been slightly dimmer now I think about it.

search the problem on http://uk-mkivs.net/ or post a thread. I have the same car and there were odd electrical issues caused by chafing wehich cut wires and short circuited stuff. One of the advantages of driving a common car because you can get help for these common faults easily.

Thanks all, it turned out to be the fuse which is only for that bulb.
