Car accident personal injury
Hi there, Please can you all give me some advice. About 2 weeks ago I was in a car accident. I was stationary at a roundabout and a truck rammed into the back of me. They have admitted liability and their insurers are having my car fixed. My cars rear underneath the bumper was caved in and the metal had a hole in it. About…

European cover
I'm going away on a trip for about 40 days in Europe. The breakdown cover companies recommended on this site only cover trips of up to 31 days. Anyone got any recommendations? It almost seems to me that it's not going to be much more expensive to just pay for any issues if and when they actually occur or is this stupid?

Recommendations for the above please.... I am looking for a secondhand (up to £3,000) car which is as economical as possible with reasonable repair costs, tax and insurance (I'm nearly 60 with good no claims btw). Car misfiring
I'm hoping there are a few knowledgeable people here, because I don't want to spend a fortune getting a problem diagnosed, only to find out it's easy to fix myself. I have a 10 year old Astra (petrol), which normally runs fine. However, about 2 months ago I went through a short flooded area (no more than 4 meters across,…

Motor oil £1.50 a litre at asda!!!
Just spotted motor oil at £1.50 a litre at Asda, the normal price for it is only £2.50 a litre anyway so Asda seems to be the place to buy motor oil. It stuck out like a sore thumb as I paid £7.99 for the same one at Sainsburys petrol station the other day. : (

Ford Focus Tyres?
Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced tyre for a 10-year-old Focus? I've always gone with the Pirelli P6000's as that's what was on them when I bought it, but reading the reviews, most people aren't that impressed and I must admit they don't tend to last me a great deal of time and I'm not an aggresive driver,…

Ford Focus Scratch repairs
Hi all, hope you're well :) I'm looking to sell my lovely Ford Focus 06 plate, but due to a few tight parking spaces I have a few scratches on the doors. I've purchased that stuff from the supermarket that looks like clay and whilst that's helped a little, I think the scratches are too deep. Prior to selling it, I'd like…

What time of the morning does the A23 start to get busy?
I'm going to be driving Purley to Salfords every morning (for 8am) and would like to leave earlier rather than sit in traffic. I've been told it gets pretty bad. I'm hoping someone here does the drive daily and can offer some advice? Thank you :)

Negotiating 0% finance on a new car
Is this even possible? Or do those sort of offers come direct from the manufacturer or loan company, and therefore the dealer has no control over when to offer it?

First Capital Connect Penalty Issued to 15 year old
My son travelled from Mill Hill Broadway to St Albans with a group of friends. He tapped his Oyster card in and boarded the train. When they arrived at St Albans, they were stopped and told that the Oyster cards were not valid beyond Elstree and Borehamwood. This was the first time my son had made this journey and neither…

Lithuanian DL question
Hey all, I've had an employee drop driving documents off so she can switch departments (she needs to go on the company insurance as she'll be driving a company van), and she's handed me a Lithuanian DL. She's worked for us for about 5 years, and I'm just wondering whether she's allowed to drive in the UK (I thought it was…

VW Polo - Engine Management Warning Light
I have a 57 plate VW Polo 1.2 with about 35,000 on the clock. On Tuesday this week the Engine Management Warning Light came on so I popped into the VW dealer where I bought it from this morning. They said it would be £75 + VAT for a diagnostic check. As I had turned up without booking they could only spare an hour on it,…
