Hey guys!
I'm looking to get a new car, on a budget etc... a local garage has a Citroen C5, in very good condition inside/out. no scratches hardly (except on rear bumper in usual spot) and interior is spotless. Its done 109k miles, a few stamps in the service book, but will have a new service, cambelt and MOT done on sale. He is asking £1595 for it, does that seem reasonable? and what are they generally like? any big known faults etc? any advice would be great as this is our top budget and wouldnt have the money to spend on repairs! The car would be used for multidrop parcel delivery (up to 130 deliveries a day).
Thanks for reading and any replies

As long as you keep enough money back to buy another car then your OK.
An older citroen can easily cost more than you paid. For a few what seem like minor repairs. Mind you thats getting the same for most manufacturers these days.
At 109k miles its probably mostly all original. So repair bills wont be far away.
Multidrop delivery, Its going to be dead in no time at all.
Have you checked the insurance, Incorrect cover couold be costly.
Mate of mine did it and did not have proper cover. He moved and uses a different name now... Vehicle got broken into and goods stolen whilst he made a delivery. Items not covered, The bill was eyewatering.

Insurance is fine, im covered for Courier Hire and Reward, and the parcels are covered with GIT insurance0

Berlingo is the motor of choice for this.0

I've borrowed one a few times for towing long distance (03 plate TDI estate) which has been badly neglected and abused. It's still great to drive as long as you can put up with the odd electrical quirk like windows acting a bit randomly and automatic wipers that do completely their own thing.
Pretty good fuel economy as well - 42 mpg with an empty car trailer from Anglesey to Essex and still around 37 on the way back with a car onboard.0 -
We had concidered the peugeot, but wasnt anything reasonable in the local area... Doncaster is about 200 miles too far plus has to be an estate diesel.0

I had one for a few years.
The door handles tend to snap, the suspension use to go up and down when it felt like it & the power steering started to leak.0
