Car Finance Application Cancellation Question

Hi all,
Just a quick question, We went to view a 2nd hand card today at a main dealer and we signed to do a test drive etc. The sales person took our details down and we applied for Finance via the dealer and he said he will get back to us in the next 48hrs with the result of applying for the Finance.
My main question is now we have changed our minds and wanted to know can we just tell them we no longer want the Finance or the car or do we now have to have the car as we have put in a request for the Finance.
I am worried we cannot pull out of this. I have not paid any deposit yet.
I have some paper work which he has given us which explains how much the car is and the extra's and the paper work says order form but we did not sign anything else apart from for the test drive.
He took just our bank details down for the credit check and other personal details and work places and home address details.
If they phone up tommrow to say we have been accepted do you think they will be fine if we just say we no longer intrested or will they charge us a fee.

You haven't signed an order, left a deposit or signed finance documents. You don't have to buy the car, decline the offer with confidence. What was it that made you change your mind? The price, finance deal or was it the car?
Have a look a private car leasing, low deposits and payments, Lings cars get good reviews. Just do a google.0
