Working From Home - Hotspot
As most of us now work from home, we're relying on our household amenities a lot more which made me think. Scenario - You're working from home and your electricity goes off. The power company said it should be on later in the afternoon but you need the electricity to power your broadband router. As the only option is to…

Apple legacy two year EU warranty if product bought before BREXIT transition period ended?
Repair shop told me that if we were still in the EU, my iPad mini which was bought only 18 months ago would still be covered by the apple warranty even though I bought it from Currys who only offered the one year cover. That got me thinking because at the time I bought it we were still in the transition period when as I…

Can't assign specific ringtone to contact or group on samsung galaxy S22
Looking through the posts, this seems to be an issue with newer Samsung phones. I tried the suggestions from those posts and they didn't work with the Galaxy S22. Does anyone know how to assign a specific ringtone to a group? Failed, how to assign a unique ringtone to a contact? I want to know when my family is calling but…

SIM for USA trip
Hi guys. We planned a trip to Florida about 3 years ago and due to covid it's been cancelled 3 times. hopefully this summer we'll finally get there 4th time lucky. However, my previous research telling us to get a 3 SIM card is apparently not the best idea now due to new costs using them abroad. So our main giffgaff SIM…

Cheapest way to get kids sim
Hi My son is really too young for a mobile yet, but we've set him up a hyper jar/go Henry type card and to access the kids app he needs to have a mobile number to register it against on a phone. Both my husband and I already have the app so we can't use our phones so we need a way of getting a separate phone number. What's…

Roaming Charges
So Sky have finally gone for roaming charges and that's about the lot. However – I cannot find anywhere, in forums or in google searches, WHY mobile companies have to charge. Bottom line, can anyone tell me if they are passing on genuine charges that they now incur post-Brexit or just profiteering? Thanks Martin

International calls - to Canada from UK - cheapest options?
I live in the UK, have a SIM only mobile phone plan with Vodafone (which is out of contract and costs me 11.25 a month) and usually phone a friend who lives in Alberta, Canada at least once a month (ideally I would like to call her more often). My friend is elderly and has early stage dementia. She has a Canadian landline…

O2 Roaming
I was on o2 a couple of years ago and had the worst service from then I've had from any company, ever. Nevertheless, as so many of the other mobile companies have got rid of free roaming, I was tempted to look at o2 again as they're making a big deal of the fact that they're the only one of the big 4 who still provides…

Roaming iPhone SE 22
I have just returned from Italy. I have a iPhone SE22 and I am with Giffgaff. Daisy chaining o2 for free disney+
I’m 6m into 24m o2 sim only and if I renew today for 24m my charges roll back to before this years rpi/cpi increase and I get 6 months free Disney+. The new 24m sim only lets you do the same after 3m. Am I missing something? If you’re happy with o2 and don’t want a free phone for a while isn’t this rolling free disney+?

Is the idea that you can save more money using Apps fair on older people?
I read Martin's latest tip today saying "12 ways you can save but only on Apps ..." I am elderly (77 yrs) but fortunate that I understand my smart phone and technology. However, I have many friends who don't even have a smart phone and others who do not understand Apps. They also do not have much money. Technology is…

RWG dialing cut off
I'm with RWG, friends have commented there's often a problem with my phone since moving to them. I called my phone last night from my landline and my mobile rang for 30 seconds then cut off stating the phone was currently unavailable. It clearly was available and in a very good signal area. Previously with giffgaff the…

My entitlement under UK GDPR
I am wondering if anyone can advise me on this point. Under our mobile phone contract, I tried to transfer my daughter to a zero cap plan, but somehow it went wrong and moved her to an unlimited plan. I have asked my mobile phone provider for copies of the emails and text messages they sent to me in the last 45 days,…
