Afternoon all
wife has just moved her number from a sim only on O2 to the Smarty network….60GB for £10 special offer
however I have noticed that the call quality is so much worse than the O2 network. I know variations in coverage etc but there is a distinct worsen of call quality.
is this something to expect from Smarty being a MVNO or am I being unlucky in the areas visited
we are within the London M25 and often in central london

Smarty uses the Three network so if the Three signal is poor in your area there's not a lot you can do.
It's wise to check reception in the areas you want to use your phone before committing to a switch.
I'm not sure of the contract you signed up to but I think Smarty are 30 day contracts so you can always move on to another provider next month at minimal cost.
The uswitch website has a range of deals in their sim only section including cheaper O2 tariffs should you wish to switch back to them.0 -
I'm with Smarty (just moved from Three) and not noticed any call issues other than when I have no signal (in more rural places) I cant make a call obviously. What is the signal like when you have these issues and is it breaking up, crackling or ?? Make sure you have VOLTE (Voice over LTE = 4G) enabled on your phone. Otherwise contact Smarty support via chat - I have used them twice now and been very quick and really helpul. Other than that - if its not working then with a 1mth contract just move elsewhere and if O2 was ok before then try an MVNO that uses their network such as Giffgaff, Sky, Tesco and Lyca.0
