Hi
I decided to take advantage of your 'best deal on offer' regarding the above and so progressed to O2 site to register.
I was just about to enter my authorisation for monthly direct debit when I realised they were asking me to authorise payment for £11 more per month than the offer stated which was £21 per month.
I pointed this out to O2's online help assistant only to be told " This is a 3rd party offer. You will have to take the matter up with Martin Lewis...so here I am...not a little disgruntled...and no new phone.

Yours.

I've just had a look at the iPhone SE2022 deals on the MSE site and the O2 deal displayed is for £18 per month with 6gb and is via Affordable Mobiles. You won't get this deal going directly to the O2 website.

I can't see one for £21 per month (but haven't spent much time looking)

Do you have a link to the deal in question?

    You're right.

I'd looked at the cheap iPhone deals in their Mobile phone section but I now see it was last updated on May 5th.

I've gone through the link into O2 and it does specify £21 on their own website so I can't see how MSE are at fault. I'd start off by taking a screenshot of the deal displayed on the O2 website before progressing any further.

    Hi lucorader,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with this and for O2's response, not very helpful at all, given that the deal is via its own site (albeit a 3rd party, i.e. MSE)

I think it's the way O2 does it's basket that's confusing, it's £32, but there's an automatic £11 discount over the 24mths, so when you sign up, you will pay this £21 and not £32 that's listed. This is confirmed at the bottom of the page. I've included both screenshots from O2's site for your reference:

    Top of the page;

    Bottom:

If you're proceeding through the basket and it then says £32 again, then this is a mistake and O2 should really fix this. I just can't get that far myself, without entering all my info.

Let me know if the above explains it, or if it is appearing again at £32 later on in the checkout process and we'll chase O2 on it for you.

    Thanks,
    MSE Chris

    Hi Chris
Many thanks for your helpful advice.
Unfortunately as you cannot progress to the Payment page (as you stated) you wont be able to view all data and since I cant transfer the screenshot I can only state the following: The page is split left/right: terms of offer (as per your screenshot) are listed down the right-hand side: the Payment authorisation details down the left-hand side and headed by a request for a monthly Direct Debit of £32 ... not £21.

If I authorise a monthly payment for £32 then rest assuredly..thats exactly how much they will debit my account by.You see my problem?

I wish to take up this deal as Flaneurs Lobster stated..its a good one.
I'm afraid O'2 help werent of much use.....what do you suggest?.

Ah, think I see what @lucorader is referring to - I went through the basket for the offer in question (as O2 don't think my address exists so won't let me complete an order for anything directly from them online :D) and, well, payments step 2:

    Further down the same page:

Now this could be a mobile thing (accessing a different database?) I grant you, although tapping on 'Your order' brings up the offer information as per @MSE_Chris screenshots further up so would be a very specific separation of information being accessed. Either way, it does hint at an issue somewhere along the line.

Nope. not a mobile thing, exactly the same £32 DD request on same page as £21 total confirmation when using online site
