First Anniversary Combo Breaker First Post
my mobile has died and i need to replace asap. i am not too fussy. i used to always have old iphones, moved to samsung a ocuple of years ago and am not in love with samsung. i use it mainly for messaging, camera, browsing and quite  lot of apps (it get a lot of use but nothing really 'serious' as it were).
i am googling now, and seeing xiaomi coming up as a good buy. i'd probably want to keep it to under 200, but might go more for something that woudl be worth it. For me that's ease of use, long battery.
i will buy outright and just put my sim in it ..
Any advice/recommendations that may ease the pain? thanks all

My last 3 phones have been Xiaomi or Redmi - great specs for the price and mine have been faultless.

Their Poco M4Pro 5g is within budget, as is the Redmi Note 11 pro 64gb

  • iPhone XS renewed from Amazon should be around your budget. Better than any new mid range phone.

I have a Redmi Note 9. The hardware is great, the "enhanced" Xiaomi user interface (MIUI) is mildly irritating.
I get the occasional random reboot, but not often enough to be a serious issue. For the price it's decent.

Another vote here for Xiaomi and Redmi. Vodafone has the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G for £179. I have had mine for a year now.
  • Seconded for Xiaomi. Although the same company, I have two (greedy) Poco phones. Both have and still are excellent value for money. They have recently updated to Android 12 and the latest Android security.
Not too sure if I'm keen on their MIUI though.
