Cost of going into a care home.
My Mum has dementia and really should go into a care home. At present my Dad looks after her but he is in his late 70's and is struggling. There is a place for her in the local authority home if she wants it and we'd all decided that it would be best. My Dad has had second thoughts as he thinks that he will be left with…

Platinum ring
I want a ring, similar to my platinum wedding ring but wider. Because I don't want it to look like another wedding ring, I think it needs to be wide and flat, rather than thin and rounded. Merry Christmas! In true moneysaving style I've been happily using a very secondhand Chicco pushchair (handed down from cousin, already secondhand then I think, when I had first baby, now using for baby #2) but now it's finally given up the ghost. With the sales just starting it's a great time to replace it, but I don't…

Anyone else proud of their kids?
OK, I know it's not moneysaving but wanted to post this here.... This morning when I got up I found a note to Santa on the worktop in the kitchen from my 9yo daughter. She hasn't written a letter to Santa this year because she says she doesn't really need anything. (Bless her heart!) so I wondered if this was a last minute…
