Hanno Heatmaster......anybody actually got one?
Now I do not have an oil boiler but I happened across a video on Youtube about this Hanno Heatmaster contraption. From what I can tell, it is essentially a retro fit secondary heat exchanger to convert a standard efficiency boiler into a high efficiency condening boiler. If this was as easy as bolting an external heat…

Oil boiler sizing - is bigger better?
I'm going to have to fit an oil boiler this year and I'm wondering which way to go for the best running costs...... SAP report says the house is going to need 16kw to heat it, so, do I buy an oil boiler with a 16kw output and run it flat out or is it more economical to buy a 32kw (or bigger) boiler and run it at a lower…

Current best prices seem to be Countrywide @ 45p/litre + meter rental at £10.50/quarter or Avantigas at 45.4p/litre + £60 meter rental/year Anyone got any experience with either of these? Currently on Flogas who are dreadful. Awaiting a quote from Calor but they…

Gasification boiler?
Hello I am new to posting, but have gleaned a lot of useful information from this site over the years. We have a detached (tenanted) property in the south-east, currently with electric heating and new woodburners. The electric heating is just not cutting it as it's just too expensive to keep at a level to maintain a toasty…

Boiler Juice / Butler Fuels Norfolk - Warning
I just wanted to share an experience I had with BoilerJuice and Butler Fuels of Norfolk this week... [Rant On] 2 Weeks ago I did the usual ring around to find the cheapest price per Ltr. I thought I'd give BoilerJuice (slightly more expensive than local supplier I usually use) a go as they stated on their website that…

Woodburner - soot reducing additives
Friends 'say' the Zip or Stovax soot reducer sachets really do work, and of course, the adverts confirm that. I don't intend to dodge regular sweeping, but if the soot can be rendered more sweepable then these may be worth the cost. Does anyone have any firm views about these products? Thanks very much.

LPG Delivery Rip-off??
Hi, I am posting this for my friend who thinks she may have been ripped-off on some LPG deliveries following a change of supplier: The LPG quantity delivered and the amount shown as used via her meter have always tallied to within a small percentage. The new supplier seems to use 2 types of delivery note, one shows a start…

British Gas Heating Cover - are they ripping us all off?
Hi, Our BG Homecare 200 renewal has just arrived and I thought I would check the price against the website. However, they said that, if I…

Some advice on oil central heating!
Hello all! I'm a newbie to this forum (relatively) and I've searched high and low, but a lot of the information I got from the forums here and web in general was unspecific to my case, old (out of date?) or generally contradictory (one person says oil is fine, another is remortgaging to cover the bills!). So, I wanted to…
