British Gas Heating Cover - are they ripping us all off?

Hi,
Our BG Homecare 200 renewal has just arrived and I thought I would check the price against the website. Our quote for the coming year is nearly £22 per month but the same contract is available for just £17 on the BG website. I rang them up and was offered an instant discount to around £19. However, they said that, if I tried to open a new contract on their website, it would be blocked as they will have a record of my renewal offer. I wonder whether this is true or whether anybody has gone down this route. Thank you

yes it would be blocked.
the order would be checked by an admin team, who would then ring to confirm that you cant have the cheaper price.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0
