Mobile insurance - purchase price?
I'm about to take out mobile insurance with insureandgo for my new iphone, but they have asked what the purchase price is. I'm with T-mobile and my deal is £69 upfront for the phone and £31 per month. But the £69 isn't the only purchase price, since I'm paying for the phone through my monthly payment. I'm not sure if it…

Neighbour's tree & my insurance cost
If I declare on my house insurance that there is a large tree within 5 metres of my house (which is on my neighbour's property just over the boundary), will my house insurance premiums go up? The tree has grown quite quickly in the last couple of years with the damp summers (it's a fast growing willow) and it might be time…

Ca insurance premiums going up after someone else hits you
I'm aware that this is normal, any there isn't much I can do about it, but nevertheless it seems fundamentally wrong. I have never in my life caused any sort of road traffic accident. A few months ago, I pulled over and came to a complete stop, as did the cars in front of me, to let an ambulance through. Meanwhile, the…

Convictions always 5yrs?
Hello, I have just paid to have my driving licence updated. I am now point free! I know that most insurance companies ask if you have any points in the last 5 years but does anyone know of any companies who ask for 4 years history only? Are there no car insurance companies that ask for 4yrs conviction history at all?

Significant increase in car insurance quotes
Hi, I'm really quite confused. I passed my driving test last month and started doing some insurance quotes to see what car was most affordable to insure. 2 weeks ago I done a quote for a Peugeot 107 and cheapest I got over all the comparison sites was about £750. Doing some quotes today on different cars, I was surprised…

Home insurance - what do I put in business use?
I'm currently getting house insurance quotes. OH is a self-employed plumber, has his van etc and appropriate tool, public liability insurances etc. I imagine that the property will be clerical use only, as this is the only element of the business we are running in the house, is this correct?

Bupa won't pay surgeon's full fees
My OH recently had surgery under the BUPA cover provided through his employer. He was told that there would be an excess to pay, and that there would be extra to pay to the anethetist, but that the full cost of the actual surgery would be covered by the scheme. We've now had a letter through from BUPA telling us that the…

House guest flooded the bath; water seeped through the floor to the downstairs flat
I was woken this morning by the Fire Brigade at 9:45. A friend who is staying for the weekend was running a bath at 9am this morning, and had then gone into the lounge to make tea. During said tea-making he managed to scold himself, and subsequently forgot that the taps were still running. Consequently, the water had…
