Anything to stop birds sitting on aerial and pooping?
My grandmother, lives in a warden controlled bungalow rented from a social housing company. Her aerial is above her front door on a high pitched roof. The birds love to sit here and plop all over the doorstep. We are worried that she can slip on this bird poo as she’s in early 90s and mobility and vision isn’t good. She…

Possible to make use of a loft without conversion?
I cannot afford a loft conversion but would like to make some use of the space. I know I couldn't do too much without adding weight and needing expensive strengthening, but surely just some simple insulation and a partial floor just as people have to walk around their storage loft. I mean people store lots of stuff in…

HELP, External Grout Recommendation
Hi everyone, I am putting some porcelain tiles in the garden, on the floor, but also some against a wall (vertically). The tile shops have advised me to use this type of grout: https://www.toppstiles.co.uk/fixing...V8mDmCh3L9wISEAQYAyABEgKBE_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds But from my understanding this grout can’t be used on the wall…

Rubble coming down the chimney. Should I be worried?
Hi all Behind my electric fireplace is the real one. One a couple of occasions I've heard rubble (not big) fall down behind. I've checked and I can't see much dust so I'm assuming it's not falling all the way through. Just curious to see if it was something I had to be concerned about.

Contesting a planning proposal
Hi all, The freehold land next to my cul-de-sac has been bought by developers to make a new housing estate. We already live in a crowded area with lots of estates, so the usual issues of traffic and noise apply. However, the land mainly consists of fields which will need to be concreted over to build the houses. We (the…

Raised decking, do I need planning permission?
Good morning, I was wondering if somebody could help me with this query. A month or 2 ago my neighbours removed a hedge and built the fence as seen in the picture, they left my side looking bad and to me structurally unsound. Anyway, to hide the mess and to try and bring my garden out of darkness I recently had some…

Advice needed on extended garden to match neighbours
Hello, To give you a bit of background information, our row of houses used to have garages at the end of each garden which faced out to an accessway that then led to the road. In the past few years our three neighbours to the left have all demolished their garages and extended their gardens over the access way instead as…

British Gas Homecare
In July the manufacturers guarantee for my boiler runs out and as I am a British Gas Homecare customer this means my monthly Homecare costs will go up by 65%.
