British Gas Homecare

In July the manufacturers guarantee for my boiler runs out and as I am a British Gas Homecare customer this means my monthly Homecare costs will go up by 65%. When I checked on the British Gas website to see the costs of Homecare I was disappointed to see that 'new' customers were able to get the same coverage at a far lower cost.
Surely this is not fair?

it's very negotiable with BG Homecare. just arm yourself with a cheaper alternative quote if possible and give them a call. the price should come down if they feel you will leave.1

Cancel it and save money for emergencies instead.

Yes, as mentioned get an online quote from another provider for the same cover and try to haggle bg down

How old is the boiler ? some tech's consider a 7 year old boiler is past it and recommend a new boiler or something else chargeable
Good luck, its worth a haggle
