Anything to stop birds sitting on aerial and pooping?

My grandmother, lives in a warden controlled bungalow rented from a social housing company. Her aerial is above her front door on a high pitched roof. The birds love to sit here and plop all over the doorstep. We are worried that she can slip on this bird poo as she’s in early 90s and mobility and vision  isn’t good.

She can’t move the aerial as place is difficult to get a good signal and where others have the aerial, on my grandmother’s bungalow- it’s covered by council owned trees. Council have no interest in cutting back trees as tried in the past (well before Covid)

We want something simple and easy to do. We are unable to put fake birds, shiny things near to the aerial as roof is too tall for either my father, cousin or cousin’s son in law to reach.

It woud need a step-ladder, but putting clear zip-ties every inch on the aerial so they stick upwards like spikes is a solution.  They are cheap on ebay etc for a bag of 100.

If you can't stop the birds it may be easier to put a canopy above the door

Can grandmother handle a shotgun? 😁
Seriously though, the cable ties sounds a good idea, even if you need to get a local handyman to do it.

A local independent pest control company would be worth a phone call.
They would probably glue bird deterrent spikes on the aerial.

If you aren't able to reach the aerial yourself due to its height then your options are limited without calling someone in.

My neighbour has placed a net over his aerial and I assume this is to prevent birds sitting on it and messing up his patio.  I would imagine if someone can reach the aerial then this option is < 5 minute job.

Does your grandmother have a window cleaner? If so then although they may not need ladders for your grandmothers bungalow - they will certainly have some and I would be very surprised if they weren't able to help for a few quid.
