Your favourite places to buy tools?

Hi guys, just wondering what places you would recommend to buy good value/quality tools in England... Homebase? Screwfix? B&Q? Online? Thanks!

There and then where and when the price is the lowest.
HUKD is a good place to start.

As above, I'll research into what I think is the best tool and look around for wherever is doing it the cheapest and most convenient. Quite often Amazon or Screwfix.

I use screwfix fairly often but also Wickes (thier own brand are pretty good) and Toolstation. The way I do it is if I want a power tool I check the prices of the mid range tools from the 3 stores mentioned check the reviews check my wallet for what I can afford. However if you go for battery tools stick to the same brand as the batteries are interchangable.

Screwfix is my go to for most small materials and consumables, but for quality and value tools, second had is best. This is a moneysaving site after all.

Usually via ebay as most tools can be posted, but gumtree for bulky things bought locally. You also have the option of re-sale, so tools you need for your current project can be bought, the job jobbed and resold usually for a net cost of little more than the postage.

Look out for my third+ hand wall chaser coming up on ebay in a few weeks.

    Lidl, as well.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I always enjoyed car boot sales for second hand tools, especially ones you only use occasionally, and encourage your mates to do the same then you all can have a pool of tools which are only used occasionally as you carry out any projects, a good selection of tools is expensive if bought new.
  • screwfix, toolstation, ffx and many more.
Register on all the tool/diy retailers. Sometimes they send out discount vouchers for new customers but they do periodic discount vouchers-well most do.

Battery powered tools have come on a lot. Worth sticking with one brand  designed for the same battery,  some dont come with a battery or charger (bare) keeps cost down.

New hand & power tools are reasonably priced (except professional tools) buying secondhand you could be buying stolen tools.  B)
    Choose Stabila !

I've often found Toolstation to be cheaper than Screwfix and they have products that aren't available with the latter.
