Gas pipe corrosion
Is this level of verdigris a concern on an underfloor gas pipe? Water I feel more confident about - and assumed this was water, until I did some pipe tracing. I suspect a flux issue from the soldering. It hasn't been touched for about 15 years - nor has there been a leak above it despite the appearance of the floorboard.

Recommend a Hedge Trimmer
Hi all, I'm in the market for a new hedge trimmer. We've a 120ft garden, with over 6ft hedges on both sides. As you can imagine, a corded trimmer is out of the question. So, that leaves cordless or petrol. I've read that cordless technology has come a long way in recent years. But, I've also read that they have far less…

Decent hoover / vacuum? Dyson gone for a second time in 12 months.
So I bought a Dyson (not sure of exact model but I can have a see if it matters) and used it for a few year, perhaps 2-3. Occasionally cleaned the filter but not often and certainly not as often as I should've. Key point is we have a log burner and when cleaning the fire out I would use the hoover. Not to suck up all of…

Ensuite advice
We are currently planning an extension which included additional bedroom and ensuite. The current plan we have is an ensuite size of 2.4x1.1m. My main concern is with a width of 1.1m, it will be difficult to locate the toilet with reasonable space in front of it. Most toilets seem to have a projection of around 0.6m, and…

Venting Induction Hob - Ducting?
In my new kitchen the current plan is to have a peninsular that will be 1200 deep (2 rows of kitchen units backing on to each other) and it will house a 800mm downward extracting induction hob (see below). My question is, for people who have one of these hobs fitted, was there enough room behind the unit in the service…

Old Garden Wall Ideas

I am thinking of converting my conservatory into a kitchen so I can convert the kitchen into another bedroom. I think this would…

Gulls hazard
One of our neighbours has a seagull problem – they live in their
own private bungalow with a flat roof and they have solar panels at a
30 degree angle mounted on the roof. Gulls have made their home under the panels – they fly around and
poo everywhere – they constantly squawk and are a public health
hazard... Is there…

Builder not removing rubbish
Our extension is now finished and the last part of that was installing a new soil pipe underground. This resulted in about 15 bags of soil and rubble being dug up, they did this 4 weeks ago.
