Sanding block paving
Not a money saving question but I’ll ask anyway. I got my block paving cleaned the other day with a power wash. It was one of those industrial type washers. I was told to wait 3 days before sanding it down . That means I should be able to sand it today . However there was a really light shower last night . I would never…

Toilet cistern keeps refilling and not stopping
Hi all. Can anyone please help. Our toilet cistern keeps filling after each flush without stopping when it should but luckily overflows into the pan. The internals are the filling loop type with no float . What could be at fault here? Are we looking at realistically changing the toilet or at least the internals? Thanks

Mould on Roof Felt
Hi, Bit of a tricky one here, we moved into a house last October and I have been keeping an eye on our loft space since as I noticed a lot of black mould marks. The first picture was taken in October 2020 and the second one in March 2021. I can't see any difference between the 2 pictures which makes me think that there is…

What's the correct way to plaster walls in a 100 year old mid terraced house?
I've got a 4 bed terraced Edwardian house with solid exterior walls. The kitchen is stripped out back to bare brick and concrete floor with the ceiling exposing the floor joists. One brick wall of the kitchen is an exterior wall so what is the correct way to apply plaster to it? On internal brick walls would it be best to…

We just wondered if anybody has Roca and could let us know if they are happy with it. We had been looking at the more traditional type toilets like…

Is an extension possible for under £15k
Hi, I want to increase the size of my kitchen. I can do this either by knocking into the dining room or through an extension. Only problem with an extension is that my one bedroom home is close to the ceiling price for the area, so I wouldn't want to spend too much. Below is the current floor plan and my two options for an…

Update: In case anyone has the same problem. southcoastrgi was correct, so thanks. I tried putting my hand over the mixer tap as southcoastrgi suggested but it didn't work.
