Hot Water Pressure
I have just had a new bath fitted and the hot water pressure is rather poor (but wasn't previously) I have had 15mm push fit ISO valves (which are fully open)attached to both feeds where previously there wasn't any. On the old baths hot pipe was a 15mm to 22mm converter which then had a flexi hose connected to the 22mm tap…

Worktop woes 😭 What are my rights?
I purchased 3 x 3 metres of high gloss worktop online from a company, paid for them and the delivery. The company stipulated an able bodied person must be available to assist the driver in carrying the worktops into the house, which was me, and we did this. My builder started to fit the worktop when I said to him it's…

Cooker Hood Ducting
Hi all, Got a new 60cm cooker hood which seems quite powerful at 558 ㎥/h max extraction rate. Model is: Samsung.nk24m5070cs The install instructions say ducting should be 150mm or 6" but the existing hole in the double brick kitchen wall is smaller. The length of run is about 2 metres from top of hood to outside wall…

Logburner
So currently I have a log burner in my basement, external flue up the side of the house. In the room above it and to the left (by about 4 meters) is an original fireplace, currently with electric fire. The chimney is reverse Y construction, shared with another room (left again, also electric). So you have mid floor: (FIRE…

Fit gas fire on outside wall ?
I currently have a small gas heater https://www.travisperkins.co.uk/Baxi-Brazilia-F5S-Natural-Gas-Wall-Heater-Beige-Oak-243160/p/834372 fitted in the lounge on an outside wall, directly underneath a window. Been there for years. It's a back up to the c/hating. It takes ages to heat up and only heats one room. Is it…

Switching Boiler Thermostat/Programmer
I currently have a Worcester Greenstar Si Compact boiler and the programmer on the boiler itself consists of little sticks that, when pushed in, set the heating to on and, when pushed out, set the heating to off. These are really fiddly and I now need to change these most days so it's not a suitable system. I also have a…

Has anyone used Clearview or Everest for a garden room?
We are struggling to find a local builder who can do an extension for us- they are basically all booked up for the next 12 months. So we are considering using the likes of Clearview or Everest who apparently do orangeries/garden rooms and not just conservatories. Just wondered, have any of you used them for a garden room…

Tumble drier and lint
I used to have a tumble drier and regularly had to clear the lint. Now I have a washing machine/tumble drier combo. I rarely use the tumble drier function except for towels (long ago thread about keeping towels soft, answer tumble dry them). But there is no lint 'catcher' and nothing in the manual about removing lint. Is…

Hello, Im hoping someone can help, I have a pretty basic gas hob that has started making a clicking / switching sound when the gas is put out. Adverse Possession? Neighbour using land
Hello There is a thin strip of land which is owned by me between my house and my neighbours drive. When they had an extension built about 7 years ago they took the small fence down and asked if they could buy this piece of land. I said no as I wanted to ensure that my house remained detached but that I was happy for them…

Plumbing Query - Flexi Filling Loop
Hi All, Today was sat at home and heard a pop from the kitchen, went in there and had water gushing everywhere from a burst on the flexible hose thing that connects the water supply to the boiler via the filling loop. Managed to turn off the water at the mains after a couple of minutes as Thames have just fitted a water…

Warm air heating and why I might switch to radiators.
So I had a new warm air system installed in my property earlier this year, as an upgrade over an old warm air boiler. In short the installer gave me the wrong fan, there were other issues which I've covered in other threads, he then declared himself bankrupt and disappeared. My options are either to change the fan unit, or…

Reduced depth gas hob help please!
Evening, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a reduced depth built in gas hob that would be suitable for a 105cm x 48cm space? The space is inside a chimney breast so the back and either side will be tiled with nothing combustable close. I've searched and searched and I'm close to conceding that such a thing doesn't exist due…

Hopefully this makes sense - I have a TV socket on left side of the wall. I am in a flat and that links up to a communal aerial providing freeview. I would like to change my living room around and put my TV on right side of the wall. Not wall mounted, just on a cabinet. How would I go about moving the aerial socket? I know…
