Fit gas fire on outside wall ?

I currently have a small gas heater
https://www.travisperkins.co.uk/Baxi-Brazilia-F5S-Natural-Gas-Wall-Heater-Beige-Oak-243160/p/834372
fitted in the lounge on an outside wall, directly underneath a window. Been there for years. It's a back up to the c/hating. It takes ages to heat up and only heats one room.
Is it possible/legal, to fit a 'proper' gas fire there ? A conventional 3 or 4 bar thing. The flue would go through the same hole in the wall ? Is it the same shape ? Would I have to fit a tube/flue up to a cetain height / (Messy/looks bad/impractical) Or must the flue go up a chimney (don't have one). Legality ? Practicality ?
thanks

You can get balanced flue fires with all different sized flues, the problem you will have is the window. It will need to be a certain distance away from it, I’ll check but top of my head it’s 300mm or what ever the manufacturer states in the instructions.
I’d have a look for a few different balances flue gas fires online, don’t worry if you like them or not just have a look at the installation instructions and it will tell you the terminal distances from windows etc. This will give you a ideal of weather you will be able to do it or not. I would think it will not be possible.0 -
thanks alex, will look. Currently the flue is about 300mm from the bottom of the window, though a new hole could be knocked through to lower the flue exit and increase the distance from the window0

From the valor web site you can get the installation manual that shows you the distances for this model.

If you shop around you can find the same heater for up to £100 less - will pay for the gas engineer!0 -

something like this would be ideal, though you have to have a bloo"y great vent to the outside elements, dont you. Any other gas fire seems to be a hearth type thing now. What happend to the sit on the wall, 3/4 bar type ?0 -
That’s a flueless fire, the POC’s are cleaned with a catalytic converter and put back into the room. You will need no flue but a vent would need to be fitted.0

"100cub cm" vent needed. Thats a 6" dia hole to the outside elements,, isn't it ?0
