Gas Hob strange sound

Options
Hello,

Im hoping someone can help,

I have a pretty basic gas hob that has started making a clicking / switching sound when the gas is put out. It's not the ignition click you get when firing up the gas. It sounds like a circuit breaker kind of click.

It happens about 30 seconds after the gas has gone out.

Any clues??

Kind regards

Cooling down and metal contracting? How long after you've turned it off does it last? Does it go on for ever for example?
  • I don't think it is metal expanding because it can happen after having the gas on for only a minute then turning it off

If it helps it's one of those hobs that you push and turn to ignite. Then when I turn off the gas 30 seconds later I get that sound which last for probably 1-2 seconds. It sounds mechanical and underneath the hood of the stove and is definitely not the clicking from the spark.

It’s sounds like it’s the the flame safety devices cutting off, it’s the gas valve shutting off, nothing to worry about it’s normal
