How to claim off joiners insurance
Long story but this guy who's a builder and joiner, according to him, who I found on rated people fitted my new kitchen and did the plumbing. The quality of fitting is so awful and he's ruined 3 of my cabinets and both my work tops so I'm going the route of small claims. In the meantime, I put my first wash on at the…

Does anyone know anything about integrated dishwashers?
We have just moved into our first house and were slightly unlucky in that the integrated dishwasher now has an issue. Basically, when you try and run a cycle it trips the power in the house - not ideal. Anyway it is old anyway and we want to get a new one, but with it being integrated we are at a bit of a loss where to…

After 27 years of faithful service our John Lewis cabinets are showing their age - tho the worktop & doors were replaced some 15-18 years ago & are still good. She (who must be obeyed) has decided on a 3rd generation - French Provincial thro' Shaker to sleek Gloss Slab. On past…

cracking paint
I paid a painter to paint my place when I moved in. 6 months on ice noticed patches of cracked or peeling paint which is really annoying . It's not blatantly visible but I've seen it now I know looking around they didn't do the best job filling or sanding now. But I wonder if there's more to it. I wanted antique white in…

LED infrared motion mirror
We have just done up our bathroom. Wondering round Costco we spotted a display of LED mirrors which turned on/off using an infrared sensor on the bottom. The mirrors on the shelf didn't match the display so I asked a member of staff about it. Was told it was an old display waiting to be changed for new stock. The new stock…

Any places that buy a kitchen?
Hi, I am looking to sell my kitchen (doing a home renovation) within the next few weeks, and wondered if there are any companies out there that will buy the kitchen? I am aware I can list it on eBay, Gumtree etc etc, but would really like a nice easy process. The kitchen is pretty high spec, and too good to skip. Thanks.

Replacing back boiler - costs & benefits?
We are looking to buy a 1960's 3 bed semi with the CH running from a back boiler behind the rather dated gas fire in the front room. Our first thought is to replace this with a combi boiler, so we can remove the gas fire & hot water tank. However the combi boiler will need to be at the back of the house, ideally in the…

Hi We have taken out our chimney to make our room larger! Now we're unsure which wall to use as the feature wall! The wall where the chimney was is probably 4 metres wide and I'm worried the feature wallpaper we've chosen/still deciding on is too striking to the eye! After all, it's a large piece of wall!!!! Wish I could…
