Can you plasterboard over woodchip? Both a decorator and a plasterer have assured me you can.:(

Sticking it to the wall, no. Fixing it with screws/nails then yes why not0

What they said. As long as there is something to fix it to.
Anything to not have to strip woodchip! :rotlf:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I so feel your pain! We had it all down the stairs, in the lounge and in the hall upstairs. Got it all off after living with it for 8 1\2 years, then we moved to....... a house with wood chip down the stairs, in the lounge and in the hall upstairs!
However I know how to get it off now!0 -
I singlehandedly stripped two good sized bedrooms which ended up having to be replastered. It wasn't too bad with my trusty little steamer but a mind numbing task. I just don't feel able to tackle the stairs and stair head and the friendly village decorator isn't that keen on it either!0

As long as the substrate plasterboard is fixed to is suitable then not a problem,,,,
Common thing I see with chipboard among many wallpapers is people don't know how to remove it? Just steam to max no scoring away they go?? Resulting in damaging plaster etc
Score it (paper tiger zinsser very good ) , dampen wall If its a pig DIF (wallpaper stripper) and scrapper 99% of the time its all you need?quicker, easier, cheaper than steaming ,,,, Bonus of often no skimming re boarding etc required0
