fEATURE WALL

Hi
We have taken out our chimney to make our room larger! Now we're unsure which wall to use as the feature wall!
The wall where the chimney was is probably 4 metres wide and I'm worried the feature wallpaper we've chosen/still deciding on is too striking to the eye! After all, it's a large piece of wall!!!!
Wish I could get some free advice from an interior designer!?
To add to this, I have double French 6 glass panel doors leading to the dining room. We were thinking of adding a feature wall there too? Does it matter someone sitting in the living room can see the feature wall in the dining room???
What if we break rules and add a feature wall (wallpaper) to where the french doors are!? How will that look!?
Choices, choices, choices! Arghhhhhhh
Please advise....

Is the feature wall for both rooms effectively the same wall elevation?
I wouldn't have thought it would matter at all that it could be seen. I am not sure if you are thinking of the same or different wallpapers for the feature in each room but if it were me then I would definitely go for different ones.0 -
The rules of interior design are rarely ones that people follow. There are many different rules.
One of mine would be never to remove a chimney breast
That said, 4m is barely anything for a feature wall and if you like the wallpaper - who cares? Why apologise for making yourself happy? What is the point of trying to please people that don't live in your house.
Do what will bring you the most joy.
I have three different coverings on the walls in my lounge. I am delighted by the room every day. That is what is important.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
