There seem to be a number of options, I've Googled around, and found three main types: 1. Septic Tank 2. Cess Pit or 3. Treatment plant So does anyone on the…

Newly refurbished/extended house with flat roof
I am thinking of putting an offer down on a newly refurbished/extended semi-detached house. It has a flat roof. My father informs me that back in his day flat roofs caused problems. But he does not know if they cause problems now. What possible concerns will I need to have about the flat roof, which is currently under 1…

Block or sectional garage
I'm looking to build a garage, the base is already laid and I'm just wondering what is the best option. Getting a blockwork garage built, or going with a concrete sectional garage. For some reason, I'd always assumed a sectional garage wouldn't last as long as one built from block, but a neighbours has been up for 20 years…

How to find a trader?
Hello Forum, I have to paint and decorate 3 small beds+hallways. The job may include removal of wallpaper in one room in the event I don't do DIY. I am new in the area / not knowing local traders so I posted my job in Rated People and other similar sites. However my posts only attracted two offers. For the removal it was a…

Fridge not cold
Hope this is in the right place - I've just opened my fridge and it seems like it's almost at room temp. The freezer below is fine, though seems more frosty than normal. I've checked and the light is going off when I close the door. Any advice gratefully appreciated to save buying a new one!

Must Kitchen Electric Isolation Switches be in the Kitchen?
Our house was built in about 2004. Replacing existing catenary wiring to Garden Shed.
I currently have a semi detached house with a garden shed roughly 2-3 metres from the main house. Currently, a 2.5mm twin & earth runs along a catenary wire to deliver a fused spur to the shed. I am not happy with this as it means I may be overloading the existing house ring main and I would prefer that I have a separate…

Hello, I have a large composite door that is very sturdy BUT only has a 1 star UAP cylinder lock (which has no anti-snap lines).
