Fridge not cold

Hope this is in the right place - I've just opened my fridge and it seems like it's almost at room temp. The freezer below is fine, though seems more frosty than normal. I've checked and the light is going off when I close the door. Any advice gratefully appreciated to save buying a new one!

This may sound silly but when this happened to my fridge, I discovered that I had managed to turn the temperature down accidentally while wiping it clean, worth checking and I hope that is all it isI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Ha, that does sound like something I'd do, but it's still set on high. Thanks though!0

Check the rubber door seal, ensure it is clean and springy.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

i had this happen years ago and I am sure the repair man said something about topping up the gas
It could be something to do with a thermostat, we have a local repair man who will come out and take a look for £10 call out and if he does the work he knocks it off the cost, may be worth looking for similar in your area0 -
Is it a frost free fridge freezer? Do you think someone has accidentally left the door open at all? This is what happens with mine, whenever it's left open the fan at the back ices up and it doesn't work. The only solution is a 48 hour defrost with the doors wide open. If you defrost for a shorter period it works for a bit then fails again.Saving for a deposit. £5440 of £11000 saved so far:j0

Thanks all, will try a defrost. It's old and only cost me £40 a year ago, so thinking if a defrost doesn't work it might be time for a new one...!0

Ditto - worth a try as this happened with ours as well. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

It is.....& will cost more than their fridge freezer is worth by the sound of it. If the gas needs topping up it has a leak which will not be cost effective to repair.
Turn the unit off & unplug it then have a look round the back.
Give it all a good vacuum out etc give it another try see if that helps.
Always try the simple fixes first !!!
