Moving out into rented for renovation work need to save mobeg

Hi. I'll be moving out of my house into rented for 6 months in order to get extensive remodelling work done. I've budgeted for this but I need to keep the cost as low as possible and looking for ideas.
Unfortunately my wife will give birth to our second child during this time so renting a cheap property is not happening. I'm wondering if I can eg suspend council tax on my house because not living there? Do a similar thing with any other bills? Pause the mortgage? Literally any ideas welcome.
Thanks in advance

adults + 1 child or 2 adults +1 child + 1 new baby.
Surly the addition of a new baby should not change the requirements massively?
If its only for 6 months surly a 2 bedroom flat will do?
A new baby hardly needs its own room.
How about living on site in a caravan then selling it after job is done. Loads of peeps on Grand Designs seem to do this (awful way to life though).0 -
I think most Mortgage Lenders allow you to take a 'payment holiday'0
