Block or sectional garage

I'm looking to build a garage, the base is already laid and I'm just wondering what is the best option.
Getting a blockwork garage built, or going with a concrete sectional garage.
For some reason, I'd always assumed a sectional garage wouldn't last as long as one built from block, but a neighbours has been up for 20 years without issue.
It'll be quite big (roughly 12ft by 26ft) and the blockwork option would be done by different contractors in that I've a guy to do the brick laying, then I'd get someone to do the roof, someone for the doors and probably a window, then the exterior finish.
So what's the pros and cons of both options?
I'll start with the concrete one being supplied, delivered and erected for a known price, in one day, although that price isn't known right now.
The block one I'm assuming might have a longer lifespan.

Just to throw a 3rd option into the mix, have you thought about a timber frame garage? Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

My parents have just replaced their sectional garage - the first one went up in 1977 and was second hand then! So I wouldn't worry too much about the lifespan side of things.
The new one went up on the old base in 3 hours flat - so speed of construction once the base is down is a plus.
What is harder is attaching stuff like shelving to the wall. You can't just drill a hole and wallop in a Rawlplug. You're into the realms of bits of timber and brackets onto the construction bolts - not difficult but might be constraining as to internal layout. You are also constrained by the panel size for side door and window size and location.0 -
I'm looking to build a framework inside and insulate, then plasterboard the walls.
The old garage was on the home central heating system, and I'm hoping to reinstate that as well.
Shelving was going to be freestanding and only secured at suitable points on the framework.
I've a company coming out tomorrow for a site survey and to give me a quote, so hopefully should have a better idea what way I'm going to go from that.0 -
Got a quote on the sectional, £11k which included a new base perfect for the garage.
Decided to go blockwork, costings so far look like I should do it for 6-8k depending on the roof.0 -
I have a sectional garage - no idea how old it is, but the 'sections' are heavy.
I had one half section taken out (the other half was a window), and replaced by a door - so don't have to use the main door now.
I agree about the comment on drilling, I wanted to put brackets for hanging baskets - what a b****I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
block all the way!0

Block built will add longterm value at little extra immediate cost, go that way in my view.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
