Changed mind from ds to ss side extension- what to do
Hi I wonder if someone can advise me of what I need to do. I have recently got planning permission and building regs approval for a ds side extension to my house. For various reasons I have now decided that I probably don't need a ds and ss would be sufficient. It's intended to be approx 4m wide and 6.5m long. I don't…

Schreiber diagonal wardrobe
We have recently installed Schreiber bedroom furniture and have found that the door to the diagonal wardrobe is not wide enough. It is 1cm too narrow and therefore does not fill the gap, as would be expected. It has been inspected by Homebase and a FIRA technician and agreed that we have correctly assembled the unit, and…

Plumbing/drains advice please
Hi there, Just wondering if anyone could offer me any advice/ideas about why we are suffering a problem with drain smell in the kitchen? Our waste water goes into a pipe which is straight through the concrete floor, rather than through the wall, and we have no outside drain under the window as you would usually see. We had…

Wood burner installation
We have a bungalow built in 1968 with a chimney. The hearth has the most inefficient inset gas fire which we plan to have removed & the gas capped off. Just wondering of your experiences of doing this in a similar age property. As the opening is 16"x22", not sure if we can get a multi fuel stove in there. Apparently,…
