Electrical Problem
Hi, I hope someone here can give me a bit of advice. This morning we seem to have problems with our electrics. Our day started with our clock radio not working properly, then our boiler, toaster and TV not coming on (although the light flickers on the TV.) Our Sky box on the same circuit is fine. Everything else is working…

Gas cooker 'may not be installed in flats' - why not?
I want to buy a gas cooker for my eldest GD who is presently having the kitchen and bathroom replaced in her council flat. Have looked on the Currys site and all the gas cookers at the cheaper end of the market, which would be perfectly adequate, are described as 'may not be installed in flats'. Why not? And where can I…

Do MFI usually offer interest free credit on kitchens?
MFI currently offer "buy now pay Jan 2009". This ends on Wed. We are not in position to order new kitchen until the weekend. They swear that it ends Wed & they don't know what if anything will replace it. I find it hard to believe that 1) they don't know and 2) that they would not offer an interest free or delayed payment…

Does it exist? I'm sure it does but I have no idea what it might be called. I've got some beautiful mirrors to hang above the flueless fireplace. H has just drilled two holes and freaked out because he suddenly remembered he can't remember where the pipe is :wall: If it exists, please tell me what it is and where I can get…

An Indesit engineer came to my home to fix my washing machine, which he did, but ruined my tiled floor. I am in dispute with Indesit who started off with an offer of compensation at £20. A quickie on boilers!
Hi To be brief, had a mains water leak which meant that our shower tray and the tiles in our bathroom were ripped out. This is immediately above the boiler as I can see the pipes to it and can see that debris has fallen down into the boiler cupboard below. Is there anyway that this debris can get into the boiler itself? A…

Tenement roof space conversion - Scotland
Hi all. I'm in a top floor flat in Edinburgh and want to convert the roof space. My title deeds do not preclude me from converting and under common law it appears fine to do so. However, i am the middle floor flat and from the stairwell is an access to the roof space and then up onto the roof itself. While the title is…

Shared Asbestos Roof Shed
Help please ! We've got a brick built shed with an asbestos roof. Trouble is, so have our neighbours - in fact, the roof is shared covering both our sheds. As they're an older couple who aren't there much anyway, I can't imagine they'd be interested in sharing the cost of removing it. As we've got a child, it is a concern…
