Has anybody had dealings with Indesit?

An Indesit engineer came to my home to fix my washing machine, which he did, but ruined my tiled floor. I am in dispute with Indesit who started off with an offer of compensation at £20. They are now offering £200, but I want to hold out for more. Does anyone know what their internal process is when granting compensation - and is there anyone influential that I should be targeting with my enquiry? I feel I am getting stuck at customer service level.

I've always found that in duspute cases it's always to quote a reasonable acceptable figure that you would be willing to accept, bearing in mind the cost of materials and labour for the new floor (but also remembering that you will gain a brand new floor), rather than have them throw figures at you.
In previous cases I have worked the cost out to the nearest penny and found that if the figure is reasonable they usually accept.
    Good luck!
  • yes, I had 2 quotes, one at £622, one at £1,200. I think that £200 is a rubbish offer given that it is less than a third of the cheaper quote

HOW did he ruin £1200 worth of tiles? Is it necessary to replace all the tiles?

As Pennylane pointed out , it is possible to replace only the damaged tiles for a fraction of the cost...............now if you accept £200 and replace only the broken tiles I suspect you'll be quids in!!
