Is OVO Energy renewal hike from £115 to £250 a month normal?
Three things (sorry)... 1. My fixed renewal is in July and this is the increase - from £1,380 a year to £3,000 a year - Is this the kind of hike everyone else is seeing? It's much more than the average £700 a year increase I've seen quoted. 2. I checked through the Energy Club and as a new customer, I get quoted £215 a…

Are we all now asking our electricity providers to reduce our monthly payments?
I am. I have just submitted my request to Octopus. (one of the better suppliers imho who are open to reasonable suggestions usually) My argument goes, I am on a fixed tariff to next March which covers most of next winter. The Government will pay a £400 grant into my account in 6 monthly installments starting in October. so…

Is it better to switch in September just before the new price cap?
As the title says, I was wondering if it's better to wait until September to try and switch so that I (or we) don't have to pay an increase right away. I am unsure, as I would presume that the closer to the next Price Cap announcement in October, which is expected to be another insane increase, the higher price for any…

Government Utility bail outs - is this right?
Is it true that the government bailed out several failed energy suppliers last year to the tune of many millions? If so, did the customers maintain their fixed energy deals (which were presumebly too low for the company to function profitably on) at the cost of the taxpayer? If this is the case, why did those of us who…

£400 off energy
Hi. I live on a boat, I use electricity but I have to purchase it through the marina owner, there is no way he will pass this saving on to me and my heating is via a fire. Coal has gone up in price just like all other energy. Is there any way I can claim the £400 to help with the cost of my fuel? Coal.

Gas Usage Sanity Check
We've finally found a way to connect to our smart meter and it appears we are using 36.9kwh per day in gas at a cost of £2.99 per day. (On average) We have a big house i've always known our gas usage in winter is high because of the gas needed to heat the 18 radiators. However we are in the spring/summer months so i would…
