Can’t set up energy account
I moved into a new build shared ownership property in September 2021. I contacted Eon and informed them that I had moved into the property. After about 3 weeks they emailed me for more information on my meter numbers etc which I promptly replied to. I heard nothing back so I emailed again to ask if they had received my previous email. Nothing!
I tried contacting them again in January 2022 using the online chat and they asked me to set up an account which I told them I had already done and no one had responded to my email. They gave me a phone number. Fast forward about 2-3 hours on hold and being transferred to various departments I’m eventually told I will receive an email in the next 5 working days with a welcoming pack. Guess what? No email!

Do I keep chasing or do I just sit and wait and see if anyone ever decides to send me a bill? I’m putting money aside each money ready for if I ever do get a bill!

Hi,who were the suppliers when you first moved in?Had you registered with them, then tried to switched to Eon?0

The suppliers are the suppliers when I moved in are Eon. I haven’t tried switching and just assumed with the current climate in best to continue with them.0

Have you asked to speak to E.oN’s new connections department? The supply side of the business cannot bill you until the meters have been properly registered on the quasi-Government National databases. Sadly, based on my recent experience, the process can take longer than most people think and it often goes awry. In my case, it took 6 months, and the meters were registered under a plot number as if it was a postal address.KLW2021 said:The suppliers are the suppliers when I moved in are Eon. If you don't get an electricity account set up then you'll miss out on the £400 from the government announced yesterday to help people with energy bills.KLW2021 said:Do I keep chasing or do I just sit and wait and see if anyone ever decides to send me a bill?1
