Maybe better to have just electric with log burner?
With the energy price increases is it better to only have electric so that only one standing charge is payable of about 28p per day, and for heating use a log burner with maybe some bioethanol heaters in other rooms?

Erroneous charge by ex supplier
Hi. I left my old supplier 6 months ago and they have randomly taken almost £160 from my bank this morning. Have called and, after originally trying to fob me off that it was my final bill (paid and account cleared in November) they eventually admitted their mistake and have apologised and removed my direct debit details…

British Gas Price Promise April 22
I was transferred to BG when PFP Energy went bust. I was put on their Price Promise April 2022 tariff which although showing as a "variable" tariff on my account says the rates are guaranteed until 30th April. In my mind that should be the case, but everything seems to be pointing to the fact anyone on a variable rate will…

Hi, my energy supplier has said they estimate my bills will go up by £442 per annum from April and are recommending I increase my direct debit. My review is due in July so I'm not sure whether to increase now or wait to see what they say in July, I am in credit at the moment.

Over Estimated and Increased Fixed Tariff
I have a 3 year fixed with Edf that I did in Sept last year. I started a fresh without inputing my consumption and they gave me a price of £86 per month for both utilities. I knew at some point my DD would change after a couple of bills as they would see my usage, so I was shocked when last week they contacted me saying my…

Trying to turn off a radiator with no control.
My Sheltered Housing Heating System (I am told for safety reasons) is never warm enough. The radiator covers keep it cool to the touch and one radiator in the hall reaches a wall temperature of 27 degrees centigrade and it only goes off when the central heating goes off. I am in the position of wanting my living room…

Cheap electricity rates.
I received a letter from my Housing Association last October, stating that me using my washing machine and tumble dryer on the low rates was classed as anti social behaviour. With the cost of fuel rising in April, I will have no choice but to use the cheaper rates. I have a health problem, which means I wash my bedding…

Advice for asking energy company to install smart meters or submeters for building with 5 flats
Our old building has one meter for 5 flats and the bills have always been abnormally high...now they are even higher! We suspect one of the shops or other flats next door might be using the same meter, and perhaps the only way to find out for sure and protect ourselves is by having a submeter (or pre-paid meter, that'd be…

Gas meter installation
Hi All, I am installing gas central heating and need a meter fitted. I have my MPRN number but I am currently with OVO energy who do not fit meters and was told by them to go to a 'big 6' energy supplier. PreAction Ltd
I am a small business owner with two electricity meters. I've had the e-mail below today from a company called Utility Bidder. I've looked back and I only have one single e-mail from them from 2019 saying they are trying to switch me to another supplier. That's it, nothing else, no contract, nothing saying that they…

Gas Tariff
I am a British Gas customer who was paying 2.44 per unit for gas before my contract finished in January. Like everyone else, I was then put onto their standard tariff of 4.01 per unit and told that on April 1st that this would change to 7.33 per unit. I did the math and my contract price of 2.44 to 7.33 is an increase of…

E.ON Next Lost Smart Meter connection
My IHD went blank on 22 Jan 2022 and my last monthly smart reading was on 26 Dec 2021. I was migrated from E.ON to E.ON Next in June 2021 and smart readings were taken each month up to 26 Dec 2021. Despite several phone calls, and them saying they would reconnect me remotely, nothing has happened. How long do I put up with…

Pure Planet ongoing woes
I moved house in October 2020. I tried to move my existing supplier, but there was a debt to Pure Planet on the property. They flatly refused to let me use my existing supplier. I refused to accept the debt, as it was from prior to my occupancy. I tried calling on and off for months. They sent occasional emails saying to…
