E.ON Next Lost Smart Meter connection

My IHD went blank on 22 Jan 2022 and my last monthly smart reading was on 26 Dec 2021.

I was migrated from E.ON to E.ON Next in June 2021 and smart readings were taken each month up to 26 Dec 2021.

Despite several phone calls, and them saying they would reconnect me remotely, nothing has happened.

How long do I put up with this?

Your IHD and the Home Area Network (HAN) that it connects to have nothing to do with any supplier. The HAN is established by the communications hub which is the responsibility of the network provider: the DCC. Your supplier pulls data from your meters via what is known as the Wide Area Network which is also linked to the communications hub. As you have two distinct faults, my guess is that this is a communications hub issue. The suppliers first course of action is to ask the DCC to carry out a remote hub reset. This turns the hub off for 15 minutes. If this doesn’t work, the supplier will normally send out an engineer to pull the main fuse for 15 minutes. If this doesn’t reset the system, the next course of action is to replace the communications hub. 

My advice: submit a formal written complaint.

Meanwhile, read the meters themselves, and submit the readings online using EON.Next's web site. This should ensure you get accurate bills.
