British Gas Price Promise April 22
I was transferred to BG when PFP Energy went bust. I was put on their Price Promise April 2022 tariff which although showing as a "variable" tariff on my account says the rates are guaranteed until 30th April.
In my mind that should be the case, but everything seems to be pointing to the fact anyone on a variable rate will get hit with the price cap increase from 1st April. I have tried to contact British gas on numerous occasions over the last few weeks but unable to on the phone & their live chat repeatedly says no agents are available but to try later. Anyone else in my situation been able to enquire what will actually happen?

This may be another one that BG have changed then as right now the tariff information does not show a guaranteed date:
Based on that, this one is going to increase to the new capped rates on 1st April.1 -
They did originally say guaranteed till the end of April. But changed it to Not Applicable a while back. Since many years ago when after installing a boiler with a “free” years service. Them trying to charge me for it and threatening with legal action I now never trust anything that BG say!1

To get anything at all from them ,you will need to raise a complaint by post , then when they phone you, argue the case that you didn't move away because you thought your tariff was effectively fixed (guaranteed ) until 30th April.fly-catchers said:They did originally say guaranteed till the end of April.
