EDF asking me to increase direct debit
Hi, my energy supplier has said they estimate my bills will go up by £442 per annum from April and are recommending I increase my direct debit. My review is due in July so I'm not sure whether to increase now or wait to see what they say in July, I am in credit at the moment.

When does your fix run out or are already on a variable tariff ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I'm already on variable tariff0

If you're on the capped variable rate, your tariff will increase April 1st. So I would increase your DD. If you're on a fixed tariff, wait until it expires1

If you’re in credit coming out of winter then likelihood is that you’ve been overpaying a little. Personally I’d sit tight for now with the DD where it is but start stashing an additional amount into savings so you’re used to the higher amount going out - it will also give you the start of a cushion against another increase in October.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
