Tarrifs...
Wondering if there is a resource to view Energy Tariffs? I want to get British Gas' Gas/Electric tariffs (unit rate and standing chare rate) so I can work out if I am better/worse off with the supplier I have. There does'nt seem to be an easy way other than to go through getting quotes etc!

British Gas & Smart Meters
Hello! We switched to BG in September last year and the deal at the time wasn't bad, so recommended my mother switch as well. Since December she has received emails from BG telling her she must switch to a Smart meter in order to remain on the tariff, however, I haven't received anything. Further adding to her confusion,…

Octopus have switched on my electric meter smart feature without my permission
Hi I don't know if anyone has had a similar situation. When I moved into my house it was with Scottish Power and had smart meters. I changed supplier and the meters became dumb, which I was quite happy about. In September 2020 the electric meter display went and Shell Energy, who were my provider at the time arranged a…

Prepay meter help
Hi all, I could do with some advice. I moved into an electricity only 1 bed flat a few months back, the previous residents were using a prepay electricity meter. On signing up for an energy company prior to moving in (Eon) I was informed by phone that this would be absolutely no issue, and they would be able to switch me…

Moving home in June (fixed back in Aug 2021)
Hi all, We're moving home in June and currently on a fixed tariff of £108pm with Scottish Power until Aug 2023. However, we're moving to a bigger home in June and wondering what the best thing to do is re. our energy supply. I assume that moving home means our fixed tariff ends immediately even if we attempt to keep the…

SSE final bill & debt collection agency
Hi everyone. Last year I moved into a new flat and moved the electricity (no gas) over from SSE to Octopus. However, I was a bit confused that it was an estimated bill because I have a…

Bought a house with an aga - it guzzles gas 25,000 kWh so no idea what to do! Utilities Warehouse?
Hi - as the title says I bought a house that had a gas Aga - basically an oven that stays on all the time. Since I moved in I’ve turned it off in the summer but it still costs me a fortune. I’ve got to renew my gas but I have dyscalculia (the number equivalent of dyslexia) which means I’m really struggling to understand my…
