Warm heating voucher

I am a Housing Association resident and a couple of weeks ago received a letter informing me that due the the Low Energy rating of my home, Electric Storage Heaters only, I was eligible for £80 towards the cost of my heating, no mean’s testing needed, it was just due to the low energy rating of the bungalow. I thought it was odd, as I am not on any benefits but filled out the form. I pay my electricity by DD monthly, not by prepaid cards.  Received the voucher today, £40 obviously January and February’s payments. The voucher needs to be taken to a PayPoint shop where it says the money will be credited to a gas card, electricity key or smart meter card, nothing on how to credit to a normal direct debit payment to my supplier.  Any one else had this offer and like me not on prepayment meters?  It is a genuine offer, not a scam. Not sure how much the HA paid for the very fancy personalised envelopes they sent.
I have asked the HA what I need to do but wondered if others have received the same offer and are on DD payments?

HA got back and said to just take voucher to PayPoint and they will pay cash. They did not say anything about taking what I might need to prove I pay by DD.  Bit odd if PP just scan and hand over the money, I’d have thought.  Will see what happens.

HA sent a different voucher because I told them I am a DD payer.  This time for the full £80 same instruction, take it to a PayPoint shop.  Tried in the closest, was pointed to a hand written sign, saying they don’t give cash for voucher.  Second shop much more helpful but said his shop does not hold enough cash to pay £80 but to take it to a Post Office, I might have done this but passed a CoOp on my Saturday walk.  It took three people to work it out, as they kept asking for a prepaid card or a Key, I said the man in the earlier shop told me it just needed scanning from the barcode on the voucher.  In the end the third person told the first to type the numbers in, bingo, I was given the £80.

My HA are going to put a new roof on and install solar panels, so my next question is going to be how does Economy 7 work with solar panels and night storage heaters.  Not sure I want to just relie on solar panels for my heating and do away with E7.

Solar panels are well worth having, especially if someone else is paying, but generate most of their power in the summer, whiler you want heating in the winter.
During the whole of December my solar panels generated enough electricity to heat my house for one day.
Keep your E7 and your storage heaters, you will need them.
