Moving home in June (fixed back in Aug 2021)
Hi all,
We're moving home in June and currently on a fixed tariff of £108pm with Scottish Power until Aug 2023.
However, we're moving to a bigger home in June and wondering what the best thing to do is re. our energy supply. I assume that moving home means our fixed tariff ends immediately even if we attempt to keep the same supplier?
This is the first time we've done this and with the ensuing energy crisis and rising cap tomorrow, just wondered if I could get your pearls of wisdom.
Many thanks!

Nothing you can do, you will be with whichever supplier supplies your new house0

Worth checking if you can transfer the tariff over to your new address as some suppliers do allow this, I did this with EDF before but not sure about S/Power but definitely the best option.
You will become a customer of whoever supplies the address when you purchase but you don’t have to stay with that supplier, takes 3 weeks to change supplier & you can start the change of supplier process up to two weeks before your purchase date.0 -
You can, but make sure the sale is definitely going ahead. Has been cases of people doing this, sale falling through & the supply has still changed unbeknown to the existing occupiers.Fred2712 said:Worth checking if you can transfer the tariff over to your new address as some suppliers do allow this, I did this with EDF before but not sure about S/Power but definitely the best option.

Can always be Erroneously transferred back if this happens.0
