Has anyone had any experience with Utility Warehouse? We saw them at a wedding fayre and they’ve just called us with the sales pitch.
Im currently with British Gas for our energy, and I’ve never ventured away from the big companies (Scottish power, eon etc) so not sure in this current energy climate whether it’s safe/worth changing. I can’t find much online from people who use them.

Right at the moment, Utility Warehouse aren't really cheaper than BG, EDF, EON and so forth. If you switch your phone, broadband and mobile to them as well as energy they will reduce your electricity standing charge by a few pence a day but that's all.N. I had the sales pitch from them.
it was quite a good pitch, but never stacked up when looking at the prices.
for example my mobile is £8 per month.
they would say “ah yes but if you take all our service we’ll give you a discount”
when I got the figures the tiny discount was not worth getting more expensive mobile or broadband.
so it was great In theory but just didn’t prove to be true.1 -
Thanks everyone. We’ve pretty much come to the same conclusion. Everything other than energy would work out more expensive than what we’re paying at the min and although our current fixed energy tariff with BG ends in March the new tariffs still look a little cheaper.0

I'm enery only with UW ... I *think* if I have sourced the correct unit rate and standing charge for BG for gas & electric, based on my most recent bill I am around £27 cheaper with UW than BG standard variable for this particular billing period. Of course thats just in my case I guess.

For some folk on Economy 7 who are high night rate users UW are indeed substantially cheaper than most others at the moment. It won't apply to anyone who uses closer to a 50/50 split between day/night though as it's the night rate that's the winner in spite of their day-rate being a few pennies more than the competition.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
