Entrenched miscalculation
Hi I used Cheap Energy Club to switch to Scottish Power on 28 February. All went well. On 2 April I provided meter readings and received an accurate bill. Same happened on 2 May. On 2 June the online system refused to accept meter readings, as did the automatic phone system, so I talked to customer service and provided the…

I've worked self-employed for home for 16 years, but The lockdown has wiped out my business and one side effect is lots of heavy big equipment has been returned. As a result my house is full, and mum mum's house is currently for sale as she was one of…

Pay as you use?
Is the a tariff where you pay as you use, basically by using smart meters you pay exactly what you use each month, not a twelfth of what the supplier thinks you will use in a year, so that there is no debit or credit balance at the end of the year?

Options for switching electricity supplier when renting
I'd really appreciate any guidance that can be offered. The problem I have is that I am currently stuck with eon. There's only myself and my partner in the flat but our bill fluctuates between £130-£160 a month. Having looked at previous bills I can see that it looks like we actually have two meters as there are two…

EON Feed In Tariff change of ownership problem
We bought a house that has solar panels fitted by the builder (Barratt) six years ago. They are connected to a Feed In Tariff with EON. The day we took ownership (in February 2020) I called EON to tell them that we now owned the house and solar panels and they told me that the vendor would have to complete a change of…

Changing name on a FIT account with British Gas due to bereavement
Does anybody have experience trying to change the name on a British Gas account which is used to handle the payments for electricity generated by solar panels. Avoid this supplier at all costs. After the lack of response I lost…

Eversmart 12% interest
As a previous Eversmart customer on their family tariff, I put in a complaint to the Ombusdman about the credit that I was owed by Eversmart when they went bust. They had given the wrong information to Utilita. The Ombudsman has recalculated my credit, but they say that they won't include the 12% interest, because although…

Eon
Hi. I'm after some advice. I moved into a flat (rent) and have been trying to switch from existing supplier (British gas) to eon. After numerous failed attempts at trying to switch, because of an objection on the gas, they informed me yesterday that this was due to the MPRN number not being registered to the postcode. They…

Is 60 watts at 12 volts the same as 60 watts at 240 volts?
I know it was inefficient but I used to use a 60 watt 240 volt filament bulb as a heat source. If I was to use a 12 volt battery charger and a 60 watt car bulb would I need 20 60 watt bulbs, to produce the same amount of heat?
