Hi was just looking for some information regarding sars request, I contacted npower for my sars report and have discovered that they have only given me a a select few of the call recordings even though I was advised that all calls are recorded, and when listening to a couple of those calls they have deleted a very small proportion of the call?. I asked if I paid an outstanding debt would they remove the default on my credit file and I was told yes and it’s this part that has been deleted also on another call when requesting my sars I was told I had to pay £10 and I said that’s against the law and that’s also been deleted. The other calls they have not sent me have similar information like the ones above and I’m guessing that’s why they have not been sent. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated and thank you.

If you don't believe they've complied with the SAR correctly then contact the ICO.

Generally, they shouldn't be asking for money.  Keep hitting the "Next" button at the bottom of the page to get to the bit where it says what to do if you'ne not happy with the response.
PS. It's a SAR request, SARS was the nasty virus that predated Covid-19.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
  •  thanks for your help guys, I have contacted the ICO on Friday and spoke to npower on Friday and asked if all calls are recorded, I was advised they are, I said I’d got my call recordings but not all the calls are in my report and requested them to be sent, I was told someone will call me on Monday about them, but can they delete certain things within a call and get away with it. I have not advised them off my findings as of yet.

Yes, the relevant legislation does allow, in fact on occassions requires, the redaction of some information before disclosure in a Statutory Access Request.
e.g. information that may identify another third party (where the consent of that third party has not been obtained to disclose their personal information to you)
Commercially sensitive information (such as future business plans)
    etc

I'm sure now that you are in contact with them over this, the ICO will be able to assist you further if required in this respect. :)

    Just to be clear:

Covid -19 (Coronavirus disease 2019) is the disease that is associated with and caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2), commonly currently referred to as the coronavirus, but there are many different coronaviruses, SARS-CoV-2 being the one related to the current pandemic.

  • Thank you for your quick response, no the only information that has been deleted in part of the calls is the part of conversations that Confirm that they are lying in what information they advised me and nothing to do with anything else and also a call that npower admitting they had not sent out a default notice and that call they have not given to me.
