British Gas - No Longer Listed on Cheap Energy Club?
Evening all, I signed up to the cheap energy club to help my mother in law. She's finally picked the deal we saw (for British Gas) and it's no longer showing on the updated search results. Does this usually happen or has it been removed from the searches?

BG or possible scam?
Hmmm - answered the door to a young chap, booted and suited and carrying what appeared to be British Gas ID. He announced that he needed access to our house in order to carry out a compulsary smart meter pre installation inspection. Mr S told him in no uncertain terms that we didn't want a smart meter, and that it wasn't…

PAYG to standard credit meters
Hello, My partner and I moved into a rented flat earlier this year and inherited prepay gas (British Gas) and electricity (EDF) meters. We are very keen to switch to credit meters to save money. I can't seem to find online if suppliers will switch my meters to standard credit meters (not smart meters). I've spoken to EDF…

Bulb Energy & Prepaid Meter
Hello, I have a prepaid meter for both gas and electric with BOOST Energy. The reason I have this is because I can’t guarantee a payment on a monthly basis so can’t risk a direct debit being missed. Martin Lewis from the “Money Saving Expert” says that you give the best deal for prepaid meter holders?? See link below.…

Hi. So i have moved in the property december 2018. I was so busy and totally forgot to make a note of my meter readings. Few months gone past and i remembered so i set the account with gb energy. After that i received my first bill which was £167, from dec to march. It is worth saying it is 2 bedroom house and only 2 full…

Economy 10
I installed storage heaters in my flat three years ago and at that time I was on an Economy 7 meter. Two years ago my meter failed and it was replaced with an Economy 10 by my electricity provider at that time. I wasn't informed that the E7 had been replaced with E10 and just assumed it was an E7 supply, it only became…

How to reset Service Interval function on Siemens programmer?
The Siemens RWB1001 central heating programmer here has decided I'm not allowed to use the heating. Apparently it's the Service Interval timer which locks out normal use until it is reset, only allowing the 1-hour boost to work. The user instructions online don't say how to reset it. I've tried the biro-actuated reset…

disputed utility bill on empty property
I am landlord of a flat. My last tenant moved out November 2018 and closed her account with OVO. I didn't open an account with them at that time. A new tenant moved in April 2019. She didn't inform the utility company of a change of tenancy nor take any meter readings. She has received a bill addressed to 'the occupier'…

Boiler (worcester bosch 35cdi 2) - repair or replace
I have worcester bosch 35cdi 2 boiler at home. Not sure how long it has been installed since it has only been 2.5 years since i moved to this house. I know the boiler was manufactured in Jan 2004 (checked the Serial No with WB). Although it is working fine now (no issues for the last 2.5 years), if something goes wrong, I…

2% cashback on Energy bills
The MSE Cheap Energy Club is a useful tool. However I don't think it takes account of the 2% cashback on DD payments with bank accounts like Santander 123, or NatWest rewards. This cash back is significant, but is not available with DD payments to some of the smaller energy suppliers. Maybe the Cheap Energy Club should…

Is Warm Home Discount capped to how much you have used?
Hi all, If somebody who is eligible for Warm Home Discount as part of the Core Group switches to a WHD supplier, and then switches away to another supplier, according to Ofgem they will still be eligible for the rebate, as long as they are on-supply during the qualifying date. My question is, will they always get the full…

Green Star Harassment
Hello there, I don't have energy with Green Star and I never have. I'm getting harassing emails with them in someone else's name (we share the first name), for a bill to a property in a town I've never been too for over £700 and threatening me. I've emailed them multiple times and I've phoned them too and they won't do…

New rental property - Boiler in Garage, no indoor controls?
Hi, We moved into a new rented property yesterday. We were told by the Letting Agents before moving in that the controls were in the house (upon moving in we realised they were confusing the British Gas Smart Meter Unit with controls). The boiler is in the garage (not connected directly to house, you have to leave house,…

Erroneous bill by administrator, liquidated supplier
My apologies if this is the wrong forum - if so, please let me know and I will redirect... So, I regrettably signed up with Economy Energy a good while back as it was much cheaper than British Gas. Unfortunately, as much as the price stayed low (around 60% of what I was paying with BG) everything else was a complete…

New Customers Only
Just seen the latest energy deals. I am dismayed to see that Eon has a deal for new customers only. I would have expected in this day and age that companies would offer deals to their existing customers. What price loyalty? Think MSE should campaign on this
