Good afternoon

In need of some help regarding our energy supplier.i have just had a phone call today stating they have never sent us a gas bill since taking over the supply in aug 2018.
We have had an issue since around october 18 and just kept getting told it was getting sorted and that there was confusion with the meter readings as the dont tally up from when we bought the property.
We moved in on 27th july snd apparently the meeter readings we have given on the 28th july 2018 dont corrospond with what were given by the people who left the property.

They have told me today that at some point (before we owned the property) the gas meter has been changed and seriel number not updated on the national energy data base and this is why they have not been able to give us a gas bill.

Im very worried we our going to get a huge gas bill as they have said it will be estimates as they have no proof of actually usage from this time ecept i have sent them actually meter readings nearly every month since october 2018. So i asked could they not take the october 2018 till october 2019 figures and give me an actual used bill. Also we have been way overpaying as we have been paying £84 a month for what just seems to be electric now we live in a modern well insulated new build property and there is no way we use that much electric so im very keen as to how can i sort this out?

Thank you

Re the electric which I assume doesn't have the billing issues like the gas.

Please post readings from when you moved in and from today together with tariff details. Hopefully you've been reading the meter as no meter reader is likely to call around.

A couple of questions a) is the shower electric or gas and b) do you use the immersion heater at all ?

Hi thank you for your reply,

Electric has been fine and billed as it should.

The only readings i have to hand are october 2018 gas reading was 00395 gas reading today (11-09-18) is 01163

Tariff is EDF BIue+Price Protection Oct19v2
Gas unit rate: 3.770p per kWh
Daily standing charge: 26.25p per day

Its gas central heating system with hot water tank.so all hot water including shower (not electric) comes from here.

May well be true - it depends how your supplier bills you. Your bill may well be showing the DD's that have been credited to your account in the last three months but do not yet take into account the cost of energy used.

As requested before give us the opening read and today's and the tariff details.
