London Solar Together group buying scheme
Hi, I am looking into this scheme and wonder if anyone has any views. It's a group buying scheme where you register before 22 August (with no obligation), get an offer by 10 Sept and have to decide by 19 Oct. It's backed by the Mayor of London and my own Borough. I was about to post a link, but apparently as a 'new user'…

Warning: Together Energy ignoring Ombudsman rulings
I feel this is worth highlighting outside of the Together Energy thread where I imagine it will be a little lost. At least 3 of us have had Ombudsman rulings in our favour. Together Energy have informed the Ombudsman they have carried out the remedies, but they have not. It seems the Ombudsman can do nothing. There are…

MSE Collective Npower "Online Fix September 2018" ending soon
Since the Npower "Online Fix September 2018" collective tariff is ending soon, I was just curious as to what peoples' plans were to find a suitable replacement. I couldn't find an existing thread regarding this topic. Have you signed up to a new deal, or are you hanging on for MSE to (hopefully) arrange another collective…

Spark energy only using estimates
Hi, please could I get some advice if possible from members here... I recently moved into a small property that is electric only. The landlord had already handed the account to Spark I believe. At first they gave me a huge estimate of 120 a month. This is much more than a friend I have who lives in a similar property. I'm…

A few issues…

Can't get prepay electricity meter replaced because of 'safety' - ideas?
Hi everybody, In a weird position with Boost, who I inherited a prepayment electricity meter from in my flat two years ago. I want it replaced for the obvious reasons, and did ask them to replace with a smart meter (before I knew better!). However when the electricians came to install the new meter they refused to touch…

Servicing boilers
Is there a neutral view on how often boilers should be serviced? The general view seems to be every year, but then all these views seem to be from people with an interest in servicing, such as boiler manufacturers and boiler service providers. Where can you get a more neutral viewpoint? I have an oil boiler that was…

Spark Energy complaint
I agreed to switch my energy supply to Spark Energy as I was unhappy with how I was being treated by my current supplier. After a couple of days I decided I'd made a knee jerk reaction and cancelled the switch as I was well within the 14 day cooling off period. I received an email to say the switch had been cancelled. Roll…

Which suppliers send bills by post?
Can anyone tell me whether the alternative energy suppliers (to Br. Gas) send bills by post? I can't find any info indicating which ones issue bills by post as opposed to email. Any bills sent by email would most often get lost in the plethora of junk email we receive at the moment.

Greenstar stressing me out!!! Taking £1500 out of my account!!!
Sorry this is probably quite a boring story, but I really want to warn others about Greenstar energy (part of Hudson energy). I'm having an absolutely terrible time with them. I'll try and keep it in nutshell: In June I wanted to change to a cheaper supplier so I set it in motion and gave them final meter readings.…

Energy Club Cashback confusion
It's probably me but I find the Energy Club cashback in the search criteria confusing. For instance, Avro dual fixed 12 months (no cashback) shows £63 month Then Avro dual fixed 12 months (with £25 cashback) shows £64 month. My question is, does the £64 a month figure show including the cashback or do I deduct the £25 from…

E-On won't let you change direct debit
I'm currently with E-On and they have recently emailed me to say they want to put my Direct Debit up from £38.50 to £74. (A £35.50 rise per month). I've been with E-On since November (9 months) and am £54.29 in Debit. This averages out ive been underpaying by about £6 a month (even covering winter). So £35.50 seemed a…
